Favorite Recipe: Candied Bourbon Sweet Potatoes

I know the usual sweet potato season of November through December is over, but I really wanted to share with you one of my new favorite recipes. The recipe comes from Kelly (my all time favorite food blogger) at EatMakeRead by route of Epicurious. I made this lovely dish for Thanksgiving and it was such a hit, I had to make it for Christmas too. The bourbon glaze makes these sweet potatoes gooey, sweet and the perfect texture. Your fork will glide right through and the smell is to die for! The recipe is super duper simple and calls for minimal ingredients. Your friends and family will thank you. Make this recipe, you won’t be sorry.

I Know How To Cook

I really want to share with you one of the gifts I received for Christmas (thanks Dad!). It’s a wonderful French cookbook titled, I Know How To Cook. It’s been wonderfully redesigned by Phaidon and is the most aesthetically wonderful cookbook ever!! I took some photos of my favorite pages to show you this book’s wonders. When I received the book, the weight totally threw me off. It’s freaking heavy! I thought it would be about 1/4 the size, but nope! It’s huge! Full of delicious awesomeness. I can’t wait to start cooking!

I’ve never been a huge fan of book jackets, this one had a terribly tacky sticker on top issued by Phaidon. I realized that the book jacket could come off and was surprised to see that it turns into a poster (seen on last photo). How cute! Definitely an added bonus!

I salivated instantly when I saw the Pumpkin Tortellini on Slashfood. I get a little overwhelmed when I’m making a complex recipe, lucky for me this recipe is fairly simple with few ingredients. Yum! View the recipe here. I can’t wait to make it soon!
