Amazing Canadian violin-electro god, Owen Pallett (formerly Final Fantasy) brings a splendid collection of work in his new album, Heartland. put out by one of my favorites, Domino Records, this album brings it all! Slightly more electronic than past albums, but the usual classical violin cools down the electronic tones. A perfect mix of my two favorite genres, couldn’t be better Owen! Pitchfork recently rated Heartland in its “best new music” category. Congrats Mr. Pallett! Listen to one of my favorite tracks from the album below.

One of my favorite parts about the holiday season is Sufjan Stevens‘ Christmas album. Oh wow, it’s so good. I’m sure you’re familiar with it, it’s quite old. But every year I bring it back out, blow off the dust, and enjoy the heck out of it!

I am beyond excited. Charlotte is one of my favorite artists ever and she’s doing something new! She’s just released a promotional video (above) for her new album IRM (produced, mixed and co-written by Beck). Here’s a link to a download of her new single.

I’m constantly looking on Pitchfork for the “best new albums”. I was pleasantly surprised to see Wild Beasts new album Two Dancers on the list. I immediately gave it a listen and was hooked. It’s nice to see modern day glam-rock doing successfully. Their video for track 2 (Hooting & Howling) is phenomenal. Enjoy.
